This project was a complete renovation of a 400 year-old adobe hacienda that was part of the original Spanish settlement in Dixon, NM. Parts of the building pre-date the Spanish and may have been part of an even earlier Native American Puebloan structure. Sunwood Design created a living space in an unused attic portion of the house including adding plumbing to the second floor for another bathroom. A rotten portal was replaced with new construction and a new deck was added above the portal. Insulation was added to the 2nd floor as well as new doors and windows. The plaster on the entire building was repaired and a new color coat applied. A new oak spiral staircase was installed for access to the 2nd floor. New gates and other improvements were also added.
